In a Game Jam, participants come together to make video games. Each participant works in a small team on a complete game project over the course of a limited time period, usually over a weekend. With such a small time frame, the games tend to be innovative and experimental.

The Global Game Jam is the first of its kind: a Game Jam that takes place in the same 48 hours all over the world! The Global Game Jam will start on January 30, 2009 through February 1, 2009. All participants in the Global Game Jam will be constrained by the same rules and limitations, with each time zone having one distinct constraint.

When?

Who can participate?

You are a developer, a student, a programmer, a designer, a thinker, an artist, a musician etc etc. Professional or amateur, does not matter. Come by yourself and form a team when you arrive.

What to bring?

• Hardware: laptop or desktop. Software: bring any software you will want to use. We will be providing time limited Unity licenses on site.
• If you plan to sleep on-site, bring a sleeping bag!
• If you have spare power extension cables, bringing them won't hurt.
• We'll gather a small fee (10-15Lt) for tea, coffee, snacks, paper and whatnot.

What will we do?

Theme for the games will be announced at the event. We will brainstorm game ideas, form teams, choose tools and technology, and have an amazing time making those ideas happen.

• 01.30: start at 17:00.
